Motherhood and Mental Illness

Organisation: Open Space Therapy

New research into Understanding what it is and how to treat it. Presented by Dr Emma Haynes.

This two day workshop is aimed at anyone who works with women through pregnancy and the post-natal period and aims to de-bunk some of the myths surrounding motherhood and the types of mental illness that occur at this time.
Providing up-to-date research to facilitate understanding of what it is, why it might occur, the prevalence and also the costs to families, society and the economy, this workshop will also look at barriers to treatment, ethical issues surrounding treatment and how to provide a useful and acceptable treatment to women that does not involve medication necessarily.
