Introduction to Working with Boarding School Survivors

24-09-2022 10:00 am -1:00 pm
£35.00
What happens to a child or young person when they are sent to boarding school? What is the psychological impact of growing up without parents in an institution?

A boarding school education is considered by many to be a privilege – how does this impact the child and the adult in our consulting room? How does it impact us as the therapist?

In this introductory workshop they will offer:

·       A theoretical framework for thinking about the psychological impact this trauma
·       A conceptual framework for the therapeutic task
·       Some ideas about how to work with this client group which can be adapted to your own modality

What does it mean to be free?

12-11-2022 10:00 am -1:00 pm
£35.00
Freedom is a complex concept that counsellors and therapists are often confronted with. It's important to have clarity about its many contradictions and paradoxes.

In this workshop we shall consider the paradoxical experiences of freedom and responsibility, individuality and social connectivity.
The objective will be to recover our own existential freedom, in a world full of limitations.
